Welcome

Dr. Christiaan Teeuwsen is currently chair of the Music Department and Associate Professor of Music at Redeemer University College in Ancaster, Ontario, as well as the Director of Music at MacNab St. Presbyterian Church in Hamilton, Ontario. Chris has performed countless concerts, and led numerous workshops, lectures, and seminars throughout North America and Europe, as well as produced numerous recordings, including his Naxos label début CD featuring the works of Georg Böhm.

Chris was born in 1957 in St. Catharines, Ontario. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1980 from Dordt College, Sioux Center, Iowa; and both his Master of Fine Arts (1983) and Doctor of Musical Arts (1987) from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa.

In 1985, he received the Solo Diploma in Organ from the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He was the assistant organist to Professor Klaas Bolt at the Grote of Sint Bavokerk, The Netherlands. During his tenure in Europe, he also studied organ with Harold Vogel and Ton Koopman, as well as harpsichord with Kees Rosenhart.
